No Increase in Parish Precept for Kirk Ella & West Ella Residents in 2026/27

Kirk Ella & West Ella Parish Council is pleased to announce that there is no increase in the parish precept for 2026/27. For a Band D household, the precept remains £16.20 — exactly the same as last year.

The parish precept is the portion of your council tax that funds the services and activities delivered by the parish council which includes maintaining local amenities and supporting community events. It is set independently by Kirk Ella & West Ella Parish Council each year and collected by East Riding of Yorkshire Council as part of your annual council tax bill.

The total precept has risen slightly, from £47,000 to £48,150, due to the growth in local housing such as new homes at West Hill and on the former Wolfreton Upper School site on South Ella Way. These increase the number of households contributing to the precept without affecting the rate paid by existing residents.

The council has maintained this freeze while continuing to invest in community projects, including the annual Christmas light switch-on event which has continued to grow year on year and proved a roaring success despite the rather unpleasant weather conditions last November.
