We are lucky to live in such a beautiful area and keeping it clean and welcoming is something we can all play a part in.
If you are a dog owner, please always carry bags when out walking and bag and bin any fouling straight away. Dog waste can be disposed of in any public litter bin – simply double-bag it first. It takes seconds, and it makes a real difference to everyone who uses our paths and open spaces – especially families with young children.
It is worth remembering that failing to pick up after your dog is an offence, and owners can face a fixed penalty notice or a fine of up to £1,000 if prosecuted.
Keeping our streets and open spaces tidy
Dog fouling is just one part of the bigger picture. Litter, fly-tipping and general street cleanliness all affect how our area looks and feels.
If you spot any of the following, please report it directly to East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Street Scene team:
- Dog fouling that has not been cleared
- Litter or dumped rubbish in a public area
- Overflowing or damaged bins
- Any other street cleaning concerns
Reporting issues yourself means you can describe exactly what you saw and where, helping the council respond as quickly as possible.
Together we can keep Kirk Ella and West Ella looking their best — thank you for doing your bit.
